Abstract:
Janice McDonald was born in the late 1940s and was raised in Oakland. At the age of 18, while attending Merritt College, McDonald took a job at the OAB. She left the base in the mid-1970s but returned in 1980 and remained working there until news of the base closure hit in 1995. In this interview, McDonald discusses her work on the base and the social and cultural life of employees and personnel on the base.
