Abstract:
Eleanor Parker was born in San Francisco, California and raised in Oakland, California. She was attending Oakland Tech High School when the war broke out and, after graduating, went to work as a secretary to Kaiser’s female CFO in the Latham Square Building. She talks about her early life and education, memories of the war and her family’s involvement, working for Kaiser, changes the war brought to the East Bay, the perception of women after the war, and joining the League of Women Voters.
