Abstract:
Cyril Sheppard served as a Navy seaman at the Port Chicago Naval Magazine during World War II. After the explosion at the base, Sheppard, along with others, refused to return to work at Port Chicago, and was one of the fifty mutineers prosecuted in the trial that followed. In his interview with Robert Allen, Sheppard discusses his experience with the trial and the imprisonment that followed.
